Database and Query System on Crimes Against Minors Launched

An official database management and query system on crimes against minors, developed by the People's Procuratorate of Xiaoyi City in North China's Shanxi Province, was recently launched according to the People's Procuratorate of Shanxi Province.

The system, the first of its kind in the province, is aimed at organizations or industries that have close contact with the minors, allowing them to conduct a pre-employment audit when hiring employees.

The system is another example of a targeted and user-friendly software program developed by organizations and institutions at the grassroots level, following those in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing.

The system has four databases that cover crime, intentional crime excluding sexual crimes, negligence, and serious illegalities. They allow employers to lower employment risk levels by assessing whether a candidate should be engaged in a position that has close contact with the minors.

To date, nearly 2,000 pieces of information have been recorded in the database, 72 types of crimes and 10 groups of people have been classified and relevant risks have been assessed.

The city's people's procuratorate will continue to improve the information in the database, and to conduct inquiries and evaluations of the existing employees and candidates of all schools and industries that have close contact with minors in Xiaoyi.
